Under the leadership of Viktor Apukhtin, the Bogolyubov outdoor class took place in Samarkand

The East has always attracted Russian travel artists with its color: K. Korovin, K. Petrov-Vodkin, P. Benkov, A. Isupov, A. Bogolyubov. The whitened ocher of the duvals, the depth of the ultramarine sky and pink-blue shadows, islands of coolness in a city heated by the Asian sun.

This year, Samarkand welcomed a group of artists to the plein air, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexei Bogolyubov and taking place as part of the project “Alexey Bogolyubov: 200 years of the ambassador of Russian painting,” which brought together artists from Russia and Uzbekistan. The co-organizer of the plein air is the Konstantin Korovin Foundation for Assistance to the Preservation of Cultural Heritage “Let's Save Together”. The plein air took place on June 27 in the oriental fairy tale of the Shakhi-Zinda memorial complex under the guidance of the famous visionary artist Viktor Apukhtin.
