The cure for vices

April 28 - May 4, 2016

Bonum Factum Gallery, Tashkent

The artist subtly and soulfully illustrated the novel, preserving the spirit of the work, in which, as in life itself, the high and the low, the funny and the beautiful, the eternal and the perishable are inseparable

In the Tashkent gallery Bonum Factum, as part of the new project “Cure for Vices,” a personal exhibition of graphic artist Viktor Apukhtin opened.

The vernissage took place on Victor Apukhtin’s birthday, and therefore took place in a particularly upbeat and festive atmosphere, with the participation of a trio of virtuoso guitarists. In the following days of the exhibition, which will last until May 4, the artist will give lectures to the audience - one of the very significant and meaningful components of the author's graphic theater.

The new project of the Master of Book Graphics aroused great interest at home and abroad. As already mentioned, it is connected with the novel “Don Quixote” - a kind of adventure story in the style of chivalric novels, but with a very sad ending.

The artist subtly and soulfully illustrated the novel, preserving the spirit of the work, in which, as in life itself, the high and the low, the funny and the beautiful, the eternal and the perishable are inseparable. The author’s vision of the image of Khoja Nastreddin, a kind of Sufi lover of life, also appeared very interesting. The works delighted me, in addition to the highest degree of artistry, with their beautiful printing and design of graphic paintings - I didn’t want to leave them, they gave me a feeling of aesthetic pleasure.
