An international project dedicated to the 55-year journey in book illustration by Viktor Apukhtin has started in Kokand (Uzbekistan)
On September 21, at the Kokand Art Residence, the famous Master Artist Viktor Apukhtin presented his new international project - "Illustration as a Theater for One Spectator".
On the eve of the 55th anniversary of the artist's creative path, who stands at the origins of the publishing business in Uzbekistan, Viktor Apukhtin came to Kokand with an exhibition that will last until September 28 at the Kokand Art Residence, with the assistance of the branch of the Kokand State Museum-Reserve - the Gafur Gulyam Literary Museum.
The author presented his author's book of the artist, dedicated to one of Apukhtin's iconic works - "Mischievous" by Gafur Gulyam. The book with illustrations and the author's signature, published in 1983, was also transferred to the Literary Museum.
During the opening, Viktor Apukhtin gave a short lecture to representatives of the Kokand Art School and answered interesting questions from young people.
The master also held the International Bogolyubov Plein Air for professional artists, where Viktor Apukhtin shared his knowledge of plein air painting.
